Urgent triage in the New Year
Please note that between Wednesday 22 January and Friday 28 February our Urgent Walk-in service will operate a little differently.
During this time our nursing team will be operating a phone triage service so if your need is urgent please phone us on 827 7184 to arrange a call back. You will be triaged by a Nurse and they will discuss options with you which may include advice, a same day appointment, or an appointment on another day.
You will still be able to book appointments for general medical and ACC related services along with our Nurse clinics and Clinical Pharmacist clinic.
(Please take note of our hours over the Christmas and New Year period as they differ from normal).

Registered patient Urgent Walk-in Service
Cambridge Medical Centre provides a Walk-In Urgent Care Service for our registered patients for all accidents, injuries or acute presentations. (Please take note of our holiday period closures).
Operating hours as follows:
Monday 9.00am to 4.00pm
Tuesday 8.30am to 4.00pm
Wednesday 8.30am to 4.00pm
Thursday 8.30am to 11.30am
Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm.
Please note that this service is subject to staff availability and if we reach capacity we may close earlier. This service is for urgent needs only.
Please note that as this is an urgent care service, patients will be seen in order of priority and not in the order they arrive. The team will do their best to keep patients notified of possible wait times. When you present for our urgent walk-in service you will be triaged by a Nurse and assessed to determine if you need to see a GP or not.
Please note there is a $10 surcharge for all patients on top of the consult fee.
If you are triaged by a Nurse and informed that you do not need to see a GP please respect their clinical decision. This service is for urgent needs only.
Please inform the reception staff of the reason for your visit so you can be triaged according to urgency by our nursing team. If your need is not urgent the reception team will book you an appointment for another day.
If you are unable to attend the walk-in clinic and would still like to talk to a clinician please let our admin team know when you phone in so they can provide some options.
Repeat Prescriptions
Patients may request repeat prescriptions via the myIndici patient portal, leaving a message on our prescription voicemail, in person or through our dedicated email address: prescriptions@cambridgemedicalcentre.co.nz
Please note the following protocols are in place to ensure our clinical team maintain safe repeat prescribing practices:
Repeat prescriptions are only available to our registered patients
A patient's condition needs to be stable
There is at least an annual review to assess for ongoing appropriateness of the medication (please note frequency of reviews may differ depending on the medication you are on)
Please note Antibiotic requests require a face to face consultation, please call 07 8277184 to book in.
If you are on a controlled drug, prescribing guidelines may differ and you may be required to have a consult with your GP several times a year.
If one of our team asks you to book a consult with your GP for a medication review please understand that this is for your safety and to ensure the medications you are on are still appropriate for your condition.
If you are unable to get an appointment for your medication review prior to running out then your doctor may approve a short-term supply to ensure you have continuity of medication up until your appointment.
We encourage all patients to be aware of when their annual medication review is due and book an appointment in advance.
