Nurse Clinics at Cambridge Medical Centre
Our Practice Nurses have a wide range of skills including wound management, performing cervical smears, blood pressure checks and immunisations. They are also able to provide free annual checks for diabetic (DAR) and cardio vascular risk assessments (CVRA) patients.
We also provide a free stop smoking program with our Medical Care Assistant. You can discuss this with any of our clinical staff members if you are interested in starting your journey to be smoke or vape free.
ADVANCED NURSE CLINICS
Starting in 2025 we will be offering advanced nurse clinics with our experienced practice nurses who are qualified to provide additional services. Please inquire with our team when phoning to book your appointment to see if one of these may be suitable for you:

Driving Medicals for 75+ year olds (includes a MOCA)
Well person checks for patients wanting to take a proactive approach to managing their health (includes an ECG)
Pre-employment medicals - enquire with our admin team regarding costs and services
Special Investigations
Electrocardiographs (ECG's), Spirometry (lung function testing), CVRA's (cardio vascular risk assessments) and memory assessments are carried out by our nurses by appointment.
Immunisations
Our Nurses are skilled vaccinators and offer a wide range of immunisations including childhood immunisations, covid vaccinations, scheduled vaccines e.g. shingles and tetanus, along with injections such as B12 and testosterone.
We have walk-in childhood immunisation clinics starting every day from the 23rd of August 2022. No appointment is required - you just need to turn up anytime between 8.30am 11.30am or between 2.00 - 4.30pm and a Nurse will be happy to administer the immunisations due for you.
Cervical and HPV Screening
Cervical cancer is one of the easiest cancers to present and our nursing team is skilled in performing cervical screening. All patients with a cervix aged between 25 and 69 years who have ever been sexually active should have regular smear tests.
We also provide HPV screening where you are able to do a self swab during a consult with one of our Nurses.
If your test is abnormal the Nurse will let you know what the next steps are which might include a consult with the GP and/or annual cervical screening.
