Dr John Russell
Dr Russell has been a GP since 1986. He has wide experience in all aspects of General Practice, with particular interest in Sport Medicine and Paediatrics. He has a post graduate Diploma in Sports medicine from the University of Auckland and has been a team Doctor to NZ University and NZ schools Rugby teams. He completed his initial medical Degree at the University of Otago. His outside interests include tennis, tramping and numismatics. He is the proud father of 3 adult daughters and husband of Kareen.

Dr Clare Hamilton
Dr Hamilton is originally from Yorkshire, UK, trained in Auckland and has been a GP since 2002. She has worked in Niue Island intermittently but since being in Cambridge has continued to be closely affiliated with 'the rock'. Clare travelled in a Land Rover (short wheelbase) for 6 months across North and Central Africa doing a disease survey. Clare came to NZ in 1988 to join a sailing ship, sailed for 6 months around NZ waters and loved it so much she decided to stay.
Clare met her husband in Niue, and they have a son who attends a local school. She is passionate about her job, gardening, and cooking! She has a special interest in children, teenagers, and women's health.

Dr David Smylie
Dr Smylie gained his medical degree from Aberdeen University, and completed specialist training in General Practice at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, England. In 1992 he moved to Paeroa, New Zealand where he helped establish the new Paeroa Medical Centre. In 1999, after a spell as a Registrar in Endocrinology at Waikato Hospital, Dr Smylie and his family moved to Connecticut USA, where he worked as a Family Practitioner. In 2004 Dr Smylie became a partner at NorthCare Medical Centre in Hamilton. Dr Smylie also spent time in Melbourne as medical director of a primary care clinic before working in various parts of Australia - including some remote Aboriginal communities. Dr Smylie enjoys all aspects of General medicine, especially paediatrics, dermatology, and travel medicine, he has been with our team since 2016.

Dr Fayez Khalil
Dr Khalil completed his training at Cairo University and then gained his qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, with special training in Urology. He is a very experienced GP who has worked in Ireland and the UK for 20 years before making the decision to immigrate to NZ in 2009. For the past 9 years he has worked at Matamata Medical Centre before relocating to Cambridge with his wife and family. Dr Khalil is also experienced in emergency medicine and minor surgery, including vasectomies.
Dr Khalil is married and has two sons. In his spare time Dr Khalil enjoys cycling, running, and socialising with his family.

Dr Mark Taylor
Dr Taylor graduated from the University of Leicester, England, in 2009 and, after working in London for two years, moved to New Zealand on a working holiday visa and loved it so much he stayed. He worked at Waikato hospital and other Hamilton medical practices and joined our team in February 2018. He has an Advanced Certificate in Dermoscopy and an interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer; he also has a Certificate in Travel Medicine from the University of Otago. He has a young family of three boys who keep him busy outside of work, but otherwise enjoys reading, movies and playing squash.

Dr Richard Bosacker
Born and raised in Minnesota, USA he completed his medical training at the University of Minnesota. Dr Rick Bosacker's specialty is primary care and the relationships he develops with his patients are very important to him. Dr Bosacker enjoys helping patients understand their medical conditions and live healthy lives. Outside of work, he is an avid cyclist. Dr Bosacker enjoys road biking as well as mountain biking. He also enjoys sketching, reading, and travel and has 5 children to keep him busy.

Dr Gretchen Bosacker
Dr Gretchen Bosacker earned her medical degree in South Carolina, USA in 1998 and trained in Family Medicine on active duty in the United States Navy and at the University of Florida. She has extensive experience in emergency medicine and has a passion for end-of-life care. Dr Bosacker and her family came to New Zealand in 2018 and feel blessed to have found a new home here.

Dr Meredith Riddle
Dr. Meredith Riddle was born and raised in the United States. She completed her master’s degree at Georgetown University and medical degree at Midwestern University in the USA. After completing residency in Florida, she worked there for 7 years in an outpatient family medicine clinic. She has special interest in helping her patients achieve their health goals with lifestyle medicine. She loves to travel and is excited to move to New Zealand to experience a new culture and system of medicine. She enjoys reading, outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.

Dr Daniel Ross
Dr. Daniel Ross was born and raised in Montana, USA and graduated from The University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his family medicine training in Boise, Idaho where he met his lovely wife, Dr. Ally Ross. He worked and lived there with his family until December of 2023 when he moved to New Zealand to join Cambridge Medical Centre. Dr. Ross worked as an attending doing hospital medicine before transitioning to outpatient medicine. He enjoys getting to know his patients and developing trusting relationships with them, doing procedures, and delivering complete care. Outside of work, he loves hiking, archery, hunting, snow skiing and ice hockey, though is learning to love the beach in New Zealand. He is the proud father to four young children who he has loved exploring New Zealand with.

Dr Allyson Ross
Dr. Allyson Ross grew up in Idaho, USA and completed her medical training at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2010. She worked as a traveling doctor in rural medicine for a year, before settling into a busy family medicine practice in Idaho for 9 years. Her prior practice included a focus in obstetrics, newborns/pediatrics, and women’s health. She did a rotation in New Zealand during residency and fell in love, hoping one day she would return with her family. She moved here in December 2023, along with her husband and four young children. Dr. Ross enjoys travel, running, hiking, sports, and playing guitar. She is thrilled to be in New Zealand again and looks forward to learning more about the people and places here.

Wendy Harris - Business Manager
Wendy joined our team in 2017. She has experience in working in Community Mental Health, Youth work and has also taught business studies. Prior to coming to Cambridge Medical Centre, Wendy worked as an HR consultant. Wendy's goal is to build a strong, happy team that delivers quality services to the Cambridge Community. She is open to receiving any feedback from patients so that Cambridge Medical Centre can continue to improve their services.
In her spare time Wendy is an avid runner, who likes to spend time with friends and family and explore this beautiful country.
Paula van den Heuvel - Clinical Advisory Pharmacist
Paula has recently joined our team as a Clinical Advisory Pharmacist with over 20 years’ experience in both community and hospital pharmacy. She is passionate about all things related to medication management with a special interest in geriatrics.
Paula is available within the practice to see patients. She specialises in helping patients understand the changes made to their medication whilst in hospital and ensuring that any changes made are not only communicated to the patient, but to their GP and Community Pharmacy as well. Apart from medication reviews, Paula is also available to help patients understand how their medicines work and why they are prescribed, discuss problems with medications including suspected or unwanted side effects, and to help with understanding any potential drug interactions.
Paula is married to Marc and is kept busy outside of work by her four children (two girls and a boy of her own and a stepson) who she says are all growing up far too fast.
